  1. Do I need to inform the BIG register of a change of address?

If you are logged in with DigiD we will automatically be informed of any changes in your personal details by the municipal personal records database (GBA). If you go to live abroad, you have to inform us yourself of the changes by sending a message to info@bigregister.nl. If you re-register within a Dutch municipal authority, your details will once again be passed on to us automatically.
If you have logged in from abroad using the BIG log-in, you can change your details yourself.

  2. What is a validated copy?

A validated copy of your diploma or certificate must carry an original stamp and signature/initial from the programme concerned or a Dutch notary (you may have to pay for this). You may not submit a copy of the validated copy; the stamp and signature/initials must be original.

The BIG register requires a validated copy of your diploma/certificate so that it has a document with the required validation marks. Educational institutions have agreed to issue one or more validated copies of diplomas and certificates.

If you have any further questions, you can contact the BIG information line from Monday to Friday between 9.00 and 12.00 and 13.00 and 17.00 on 0900-8998225 (€0.10 per minute), from abroad on +31 70 3406600 or you can send an email to info@bigregister.nl
