Who is involved?

In some cases, particularly when considering applications for a Declaration of Professional Competence, we seek the advice of third parties such as the Foreign Health Care Qualifications Commission (CBGV), Nuffic and Colo.

Foreign Health Care Qualifications Commission (CBGV)
The CBGV is an independent commission appointed by the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS). The commission can be called upon for advice and recommendations prior to a decision being made. The CBGV may in turn seek advice from Nuffic or Colo regarding the standing of qualifications obtained in other countries, and how they compare to those awarded in the Netherlands. The CBGV will then issue an expert recommendation on this basis.

Nuffic
Nuffic is the Netherlands organization for international cooperation in higher education. Nuffic evaluates foreign degrees and diplomas at university and pre-university (senior secondary school) level.

Colo
Colo is responsible for the evaluation of all other forms of educational qualifications, such as vocational education and adult education.
