An application for a ‘Declaration of Professional Competence’ must also be completed in the prescribed manner. You must submit all requested documents in the correct format. In some cases we must seek advice from the Foreign Health Care Qualifications Commission (CBGV). The processing period may then be longer than the stated eight weeks. You will be notified if this situation applies in your case.
When it is not necessary to consult the commission, the maximum processing period is eight weeks, although an extension of this period is possible.
In both cases, you will receive a letter informing you of the provisional decision. You then have three weeks in which to respond to this letter, during which time the processing period is suspended. If you do not respond, or if you notify us that you accept the provisional decision, you will then receive the final, definitive decision. This marks the end of the application procedure.
If you do not agree with the provisional decision, and wish to ask any questions, you can do so in writing. We will always respond to queries within six weeks of receiving your letter. You can also request a personal interview at which the decision will be explained to you. You will receive a written invitation to the interview and the processing period will be suspended. A written report of the interview will be produced and forwarded to you within six weeks, together with the final decision.
